Current Narrative:
At the start of WIOA, Louisiana’s Implementation Team established a workgroup specifically tasked with data alignment, data sharing and the integration of such data as it relates to WIOA. Over the next several months, the group will continue to evaluate each core partner’s collection method of the required data elements. Specifically, the group will examine what is collected, how it is collected and how and where data is stored. Collection process changes will be an outcome of the evaluation and will be incorporated into an eventual data management system among partner agencies.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission will work with core partners to track participation across programs. A phased approach will be taken to achieve the goals of program alignment. Phase I will concentrate on the development of common intake and collection system with core partners, determine what to collect and how to collect it, as well as the frequency of the collection in a secure exchange environment. Business rules will be established, and data-sharing agreements put into place. Phase II will include the evaluation of common intake and service delivery across all programs. As a result of the two-phase process, reduced duplication of services and improved efficiency is anticipated.
