It does not discriminate in admission to its programs, services or activities; in access to them; in treatment of individuals with disabilities; or any aspect of their operations.

Upon employment, instructors are provided face-to-face professional development pre-service sessions related to discrimination and disability accommodations. They also are responsible for assignments in Schoology geared toward these topics.

All students are required to follow a Code of Conduct and Dress Code which explains the expectations regarding appropriate behavior, attendance, progress, and dress code. This provides a starting point for a stable safe environment for all students. No violence or abuse of any kind is tolerated within the program classroom.

Materials available for students with disabilities include Braille TABE, Large Print TABE, Audio TABE, Large Print CASAS and a talking calculator. Materials available for ELL students include Spanish TRA, Spanish TABE, Spanish OPT and French OPT.

West Virginia Adult Education is prepared to provide an interpreter for those students who are hearing impaired. This is through a partnership with the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services. Interpreters are contracted on an as needed basis.

Distance Education opportunities for ELL students as well as literacy level students includes Burlington English software. This online courseware can be accessed outside of an adult education classroom as an additional learning resource.

West Virginia Adult Education is in partnership with Literacy West Virginia who provides training, resources and technical assistance to local adult literacy programs through a regional system. Literacy WV offers program models, methods and materials for reaching adults and teaching learners to read, write, speak, understand and progress in their literacy development. Training opportunities are free, or at little cost, to programs. Available trainings are Literacy Tutor Trainings, ESOL Tutor Trainings, Ruby Payne's "A Framework for Understanding Poverty," Train the Trainer, Special Learning Needs, and CASAS.

Recruitment of students into programs includes PSAs to local television, radio and newspaper outlets. This insures that students with limited reading skills can hear about the program.

The public has access to the West Virginia Department of Education’s website which has recently been reconstructed to become ADA compliant.

All class locations are considered diverse learning centers. All students are connected by interest and need rather than limited by gender, age, race, sexual orientation or culture.
