Current Narrative:

In order to improve services to re-entry population, EOEA will work with the Department of Corrections (DOC)  to learn about the current numbers of SCSEP-eligible inmates that maybe re-entering community during PY21-24. There are many steps that need to be taken prior to release, including: obtaining state ID, MassHealth applications, and locating housing. If these are in place, SCSEP is able to work together with DOC on assessment and program placement for an appropriate Community Service Assignment.

Finding new Host Agencies will be another priority and it may take additional time to find a Host Agency with the supervision and employment training opportunity needed to help individuals re-integrate. More information gathering from the local communities is needed to better understand the challenges of this population as they age.
