Current Narrative:

The following activities support WIOA core programs and align with the State’s strategies, as previously described.

LWC administers the development and integration of workforce services in cooperation with the Board’s oversight and planning efforts. Service delivery is provided through Louisiana Workforce Boards, which contract with one-stop providers to operate a variety of program components. This network gives customers local access to workforce solutions and statewide services at 15 comprehensive one-stop AJCs and 44 affiliated sites.

The LWC’s joint efforts continuously bring together interagency workforce and education partners to establish a strategic process focused on shared accountability. This collaborative effort also explore the potential for co-location where appropriate, further the advancement and monitoring of shared programming efforts, and develop a referral-based protocol aimed at enhancing efficiency. Through these concerted actions, LWC seeks to foster a more cohesive and effective approach to addressing the workforce and training needs of the state.

WIOA continues to support Louisiana’s progress toward integrating services for customers through a memoranda of understanding (MOU) with all required one-stop partners to better align the work of core and required partners at both the state and local level.

Leadership from the one-stop partner programs convene periodically (i. e., monthly or quarterly) to review performance outcomes, customer flow in the AJCs, and make recommendations for process improvements.

LWC understands that the management of the integrated service deliver (ISD) model for the One-Stop Center is a power tool for realizing the potential of WIOA by streamlining administrative processes to direct more of the system’s limited resources to value-added customer interactions. By braiding resources and programs provided under WIOA; redefining customer flow and access to services, ISD supports efficient use of system resources on behalf of customers and employers.
