e. 6. A. Collaboration
Describe any collaborative agreements the state workforce agency (SWA) has with other MSFW service providers including NFJP grantees and other service providers. Describe how the SWA intends to build upon/increase collaboration with existing partners and in establishing new partners over the next four years (including any approximate timelines for establishing agreements or building upon existing agreements).
Current Narrative:
The state will continue to collaborate with our National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) grantees and other service providers. The state will continue to collaborate with the NFJP grantees and the LWDBs. The state will exchange information with these groups and seek inclusion in the establishment of the LWDB and NFJP Memorandum of Understanding. The state will work toward identifying additional NFJP grantees and their respective directors who are operating components of this program in West Virginia and work with them to streamline and coordinate services in a seamless manner.
The current MOU with the NFJP grantee outlines the coordination of outreach services, distribution of information by both WorkForce West Virginia and the NFJP grantee, providing statistical information for federal reporting, cross training of staff as it relates to the Employment Service Complaint System and human trafficking, and office space when needed.
At this time, there are no additional formal agreements with other MSFW service providers or NFJP grantees. The current MOU expires in 2026 at which time another MOU will be drafted and signed.
WorkForce West Virginia will work to strengthen current relationships with WV Farm Bureau, WVU Extension and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. These relationships will be built by communication of relative data as it relates to agriculture in West Virginia, including these entities in meetings/trainings with agriculture employers, and discussing ways to support the agriculture industry. Research will begin on locating active agricultural employer organizations and organizations serving MSFWs with the end goal in creating partnerships.
