Current Narrative:

Louisiana has a population of approximately 4,516,527. If an estimated 29% is over the age of 55 and 18.6% of those persons live in poverty, then there are approximately 243,621 eligible SCSEP individuals in Louisiana. The state has a total of 737 slots assigned overall. The percentage of persons residing in rural areas is 18.6% and 81.4% for urban (about a 4:1 ratio in those residing in urban areas rather than rural).
