Louisiana SCSEP will continue coordinating SCSEP with other private and public entities and programs that provide services to older Americans, such as community and faith-based organizations to assist the elderly and those with special needs or disabilities. Currently, participants are referred to community action programs for assistance with housing; Catholic Charities provides assistance with income tax preparation, and Vocational Rehab assign job coaches to work with participants with the greatest barriers to employment.  In addition, there are numerous partnerships with clothes closet, food banks/pantries, etc. to assist participants in obtain items to wear to work, food, reduced health care services, and more. Additionally, Sub-grantees and Nationals will continue to utilize different organizations and educational institutions for the provision of other community services and training opportunities such as computer training and assessing job readiness. In addition, there will be coordination with community and faith-based organizations that provide transportation and programs for those with disabilities or special needs. Coordination and co-location of services help to identify the needs of participants and develop suitable job openings. Moreover, the collaboration with community-based and faith-based organization will establish opportunities for job fairs and sharing program information. Using this platform will allow Sub-Grantees to establish rapport with employers who offer reliable career pathways, and are willing to maintain a long-term working partnership.
