Current Narrative:

Louisiana will establish the following planned actions to coordinate SCSEP with other private and public entities and programs that provide service to older Americans, such as community and faith-based organizations, transportation programs, and programs for those with special needs or disabilities.

  • Identify key organizations and programs in the community that serve older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with special needs. Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships to share resources, expertise, and best practices.
  • Implement cross-training programs to ensure staff members across different organizations are familiar with each other's services and can refer participants to appropriate programs as needed.
  • Create outreach and awareness campaigns to inform older Americans, individuals with disabilities, and those with special needs about the range of services available through SCSEP and its partner organizations.
  • Work with transportation programs to ensure that SCSEP participants have access to reliable and affordable transportation to and from their training or work placements.
  • Collaborate with organizations that specialize in serving individuals with special needs or disabilities to ensure that SCSEP activities and work placements are tailored to accommodate their specific requirements.
  • Coordinate with community and faith-based organizations to provide additional supportive services, such as counseling, mentoring, and social activities, to enhance the overall well-being of SCSEP participants.
